Higher Level Apprentice in Accountancy (HLA) – Apprentice Position

We are a modern, progressive accountancy and business advisory practice based in Dungannon. Our fantastic team of accountants and advisors work with a broad range of business and personal clients across the country.

Due to continued expansion in our client base, we wish to appoint the role of Higher Level (HLA) Apprentice in our Accounts Team in Dungannon.

This exciting role will offer an ambitious school leaver the opportunity to work in our Accounts Team, working with owner managed limited companies, partnerships and sole traders on management accounts, year-end accounts and tax returns whilst studying for an internationally recognised accounting qualification.

We are offering a two-year contract within our practice where you will work four days a week and study one day a week with South West College. You will have access to a mentor in the workplace and you will be putting your studies into practice every day, as you go from complete beginner to fully-qualified Accounting Technician with Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI).

This pathway into accountancy will provide you with a paid, practical and fully funded route towards a professional career in accountancy.

You will exit the programme with two years’ work experience and a chance to continue your studies in professional accountancy.

Applicants should have the following experience/attributes:

• Strong communication skills, confident, approachable and the ability to quickly secure a client’s trust;
• Ability to work to strict deadlines;
• Good organisational skills and time management ability;
• Desire to learn;
• Commitment to study and passing exams.

Course entry requirements

• 96 UCAS points or 3 C grades at A-Level AND
• B at GCSE level in Maths and B in English
