Gerard Gildernew, Principal, is a Chartered Accountant and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner.
Gerard is a highly skilled and experienced business advisor who works closely with his portfolio of accounts, tax and business advisory clients. He takes a natural interest and personal ownership of all his clients, working closely with them to gain a detailed knowledge and understanding of their business; delivering a high quality professional service in a hands-on way.
Gerard has built up a very successful business consultancy practice, working with clients of all sizes, helping them improve and grow their business, developing their management reporting systems, business operations, internal processes and controls. Most recently he has worked with a number of SME owner managed business, assisting with succession planning and securing their exit in a profitable and tax efficient manner.
He has also developed specific expertise in advising Credit Unions on their internal controls and general business planning as well as ensuring full compliance with FCA and PRA regulatory requirements.
Previously, he was a Partner in CavanaghKelly. He headed the practice’s Business Restructuring & Advisory divisions, working across many high profile and complex restructuring and insolvency engagements in his time at the firm. He has a proven track record in securing significant debt write-downs and debt settlements for his clients.
Gerard trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Arthur Andersen in Dublin. He spent 7 years working in senior positions in the Northern Ireland Health Service in the early 2000’s.
