Consultant Accountant – Advisory

We wish to appoint an ambitious and driven Chartered Accountant to a new Consultant Accountant role in our Advisory team.

Gildernew & Co. was established as a new modern and dynamic accounting and advisory practice in 2016.  The firm has experienced huge success in the past five years, building from a core team of four staff to a current staffing of 13 professionals across a range of disciplines.  In that time, the practice has seen significant growth in its client base and reach across the island of Ireland.

Our Advisory offering is led by Gerard Gildernew, Founder and Managing Director.

Gerard has built up significant experience in the past 20 years in all areas of business advisory including business financing, financial and management reviews, due diligence on business sale/purchase transactions, shareholder/partner dispute resolution and technology consulting.

Established businesses and new starts are choosing Gildernew & Co for the firm’s reputation as top-tier advisors and the quality of our outputs; a team of highly capable and committed professionals at the forefront of their game who give clients quality advice and information when and where they need it.

Our network of clients, referral partners, funders as well as many of NI’s key decision makers helps us deliver the best result for our clients, time and time again.

Opportunity

We now wish to appoint a Consultant Accountant to work exclusively in our Advisory team.  Working closely with the Managing Director, you will have an opportunity to learn at the highest level, working across a range of projects and building your own expertise, commercial acumen, and network of business connections across Northern Ireland and beyond.

You will be working across a range of projects, leading the service delivery on strategic business plans, independent business reviews, succession planning, process reviews / improvement plans and digital accounting technology reviews for clients of this firm, as well as reporting to funders, grant providers, prospective purchasers and so on.

The person

You will be a qualified Chartered Accountant with 2+ years’ experience in an accounting firm.  Ideally you will have experience in an advisory role; this is not essential, however, as full structured training shall be provided.

You will be a high achiever academically with a minimum 2:1 degree qualification and strong A level results.

You will enjoy the varied and sometimes unpredictable nature that comes with Advisory projects and you will relish the challenge of working across a range of sectors building knowledge all the time.

Most importantly, you will be ambitious, driven and keen to progress in your career.

Fully supported training towards further specialist qualifications can also be arranged for the right candidate (such as JIEB Insolvency, Expert Witness training, Diploma in Corporate Finance or Forensic Accounting).

Remuneration and progression

The successful candidate will receive a highly attractive base salary and a bonus linked to personal and practice achievement will also be part of the offer.  Other benefits include free car parking, life cover and generous training allowance.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accountant to move into a new role with a clear career progression path to senior management.  Leading the delivery and continued development of advisory services, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of our offering as well as building your own team of consultants in time to further enhance service provision.
