Outstanding tax returns – penalties increase

The deadline for filing self-assessment income tax returns for the 2016/17 tax year was 31 January 2018.  For taxpayers who missed the deadline, there is an automatic non-filing penalty of £100.

For those who have still to file their returns, there are only two weeks left to avoid an increase in this penalty – come 1 May, the penalty will begin increasing by £10 per day.  Interest on overdue payments will also be charged.

Our Accounts team can help you get your outstanding returns filed without further unnecessary delay.

Avoid further penalties and costs by getting in touch.  Call Claire McElduff on 028 8772 4697 or email Claire.McElduff@gildernewandco.com.
