It is welcome news to hear that HM Revenue & Customs have now put systems in place to allow a re-occurring direct debit to automatically collect PAYE and CIS payments.
Until now, HM Revenue & Customs had a system that will collect one month at a time which meant a new payment collection had to be set up each month. This new recurring system will roll over and collect the full payments when they become due saving, us as a payroll bureau and, our clients an entire headache each month, especially when it comes to those to sometimes forget to pay!
The initial set up must be completed by the client, once set up it will roll over each month. The payment will be collected on 22nd of the month or quarter (whichever your pay frequency is set as).
This new process is now live, where you can follow the instructions onscreen. We can confirm it takes 2 minutes to set up once you are logged in to your Government Gateway account.
